Business Leaders Choose Richard Devlin
Senator Devlin Talks with Lake Oswego Business Owner
Devlin wins endorsement from Oregon Business Association
DISTRICT 19 —State Senator and candidate for Senate District 19, Richard Devlin announced today that he had earned the endorsement from the Oregon Business Association (OBA), one of the state’s leading business organizations. The OBA stressed Devlin’s leadership on helping business grow and improving our economy in their endorsement.
“Times are still tough in Oregon and we need leaders like Richard Devlin to make the hard calls to get things back on track,” said Ryan Deckert, president of the OBA.
Devlin’s legislative record reflects support for investing in technology and infrastructure to create private sector jobs. Currently, he’s working on a plan to make it easier for small businesses to start and grow in Oregon. This includes cutting taxes for small businesses and creating incentives for companies that hire unemployed workers, and he proposes reducing the capital gains tax to spur investment in local small businesses.
“I know what it means to work hard and get through tough times,” said Devlin. “I understand Oregonians are hurting and I want to make sure the State of Oregon does everything it can to get businesses to start hiring again.”
Formed by a group of Oregon business leaders, OBA provides bipartisan, statewide business leadership that strives to ensure Oregon’s continued economic competitiveness. Today, more than 300 businesses, from Portland to Boardman, from homegrown to Fortune 500, have joined to support OBA’s commitment to a healthy economy for all Oregonians.
Senate District 19 covers Lake Oswego, Tualatin, West Linn and a portion of Southwest Portland. Devlin currently serves as the district’s state senator and, prior to his service in public office he spent much of his time dedicated to community safety, working in both adult and juvenile corrections and civil and criminal investigations. He resides in Tualatin with his wife Eliza. They have two grown children and four grandchildren.
